Abu Dhabi-based company wants to bring polo to a wider audience.
Dubai, UAE – 02 November, 2017 – ADS Securities, an Abu Dhabi-based and owned international financial services company, has pledged to support the Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club’s activities and help bring the sport of polo to a broader audience.
Speaking on Friday 3rd, November, ahead of Pink Polo Day, the traditional season-opener at the UAE’s only Royal Polo Club, Jason Hughes, ADS Securities Head of Retail Sales, said that, however strange it may seem, there are many parallels between polo and the business of trading.
“The skills needed to trade are very similar to those needed by a polo player,” he said. “We share the need for passion, persistence, anticipation and discipline.
“There is a clear connection between the psyche of the polo player and the trader, and obviously, as a UAE-owned and based company, it is important for us to be part of the local community.
“We have entered into a number of sponsorships and we are now very pleased to be associated with Ghantoot,” Hughes added.
“We are a global business, but we are very proud to be part of the UAE and to have a strong local connection with Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club.”
Hughes believes that ADS Securities can also help promote the game of polo.
“Generally polo is seen as inaccessible, and a sport for the elite,” he said.
“I believe we can help change this perception.
“We have a very broad client base. We speak to people from all walks of life globally and we can help promote the game by bringing it to a broader audience.”
Hughes reiterated that ADS Securities is looking forward to the coming season at Ghantoot as well as its annual Autism Charity Polo match, Emirates Red Crescent Polo match and the Al Amal Polo Day.
The 2017-2018 season at the Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club starts on Friday, November 3, with Pink Polo Day, a charity-led event that hopes to raise awareness about breast cancer.
