he historic Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club (GRPC) entered a new era on Friday with the commemoration of the Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Polo ground to mark 25 glorious years of the club.

Ever open to change in the year 2020, Ghantoot renamed its main polo field to honor the support and passion of its founder, HH Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his son, Sheikh Falah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

To celebrate the auspicious occasion in its anniversary year, the club staged an entertaining Sultan Bin Zayed al Nahyan exhibition polo match between Ghantoot Yas Properties and Ghantoot Maserati

“Since it’s founding in 1994, the club has grown steadily from a unique sports model into a proud and permanent headquarters in the UAE for top-level polo,” said HE Zayed Khalifa Zayed Alaboudi Al Zaabi, Ghantoot’s Executive Director.

“It gives me great pleasure to congratulate HH Sheikh Falah Bin Zayed, our patron, on 25 glorious years of sport and entertainment at this beautiful sporting facility.

“I assure that Ghantoot will conduct special activities and events during this milestone year and I invite all our patrons, sponsors and fans to join us in celebrating the 25th Anniversary,” Al Zaabi added.

“We have come a long way since the club was created by His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and we could not have crossed so many memorable milestones without your support and I thank you for that.”

Al Zaabi also thanked the club’s strategic partners, the UAE Heritage Club, the Sultan bin Zayed Centre, Maserati, Premier Motors and Yas International Properties.

Premier Motors, the official Maserati dealer in Abu Dhabi, has been a long-standing supporter of the Club, having been associated with it since 2016.

With the launch of the Sultan bin Zayed Polo field, the Emirates Heritage Club, reiterated its support to the club and its premier position in the polo world.

Along with the polo match fans were treated to an entertaining horse show and tent pegging session by the Emirates Heritage Club and an exhilarating demonstration of skydiving.
